Closed cell foam tape is highly effective as a gasket due to its non-porous structure that prevents the passage of liquids and gases.  When compressed between surfaces, the tape forms a tight, durable seal that helps maintain system efficiency and prevents energy loss by blocking unwanted air leaks. Additionally, closed cell foam tape provides cushioning and vibration damping, helping to reduce noise and mechanical wear within the system.

Pres-On offers a variety open cell foam tapes recommended for filter gaskets: the P8500 Series – Polyester and the P8500E – Polyether. These materials are available in various thicknesses ranging from 1/8″ to 1″ thick.
